The Kanpur health departments "Sambhav Nutritional Promotion" program began on Friday and will end on October 2 with the aim of identifying malnourishment among children who are aged 0 to 5 years old and are underweight , severe and excessively malnourished (SAM) or medium and gravely malnourished (MAM).

District program officer Durgesh Pratap Singh stated that the first week under the campaign would be observed as ‘Weight Week.’ During this time, all children up to the age of six will be weighed at every Anganwadi centre in the district.

The Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) representatives would frequently visit the Anganwadi facility to monitor smooth functioning of the program. The Anganwadi Centers would host a variety of services, including home visits, health check-ups, medical treatment, dietary advice, personal hygiene education, etc. Further, to ensure the campaign′s success, the departments of panchayati raj, animal husbandry, education, food and logistics, rural development, and Ayush have been involved.

The major goal of the three-month campaign is to help underweight kids with their nutrition. To motivate the health workers, the government would choose and honour 3 of the district′s Anganwadi centres′ primary female servers and three child development project officers.
